The 2-slot design allows the fans to use the cases side-panel ventilation for maximum cooling.
This graphics card is made to last with reinforced materials, such as a protective aluminium backplate that reinforces the PCB and a stainless-steel mounting bracket that resists corrosion. The aluminium backplate also adds structural integrity.
